Introductory Trainings on Safe Computing and Internet Use

In July of 2014 US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange hosted two online Information and Communication Technology  (ICT) trainings for its working group members and fellows on the subject of "Information Security for Beginners: How to be Safe in the Internet." The trainings, one in English and the other one in Russian, were led by an international ICT expert Samvel Martirosyan, who provided an introductory overview and information on such topics as the general threats (viruses, malware, personal targeted attacks), keeping one's computer and accounts safe, choosing the most appropriate software for one's needs (e.g., operating systems, antivirus programs, software), options for storing and backing up data and the safety of portable electronic devices (e.g., smartphones, iPads, PDAs, etc.).
