Cross Country Collaboration to End Violence Against Women

Gender Equity Working Group members Elena Nazarova, Ludmilla Vasilenko, Delilah Rumburg, and Anastasia Ermolaeva during the 2013 SEE conference.

The Gender Equity Working Group will work with NGO experts to create effective and sustainable responses to violence against women while also providing an opportunity for them to share knowledge and skills and develop new partnerships. As a result of the project, cross-sector and cross-cultural long-term connections will be created among participants. Project partners will conduct a multi-disciplinary training and hold a roundtable discussion and sessions devoted to improving coordinated community responses that incorporate both effective legal frameworks and comprehensive, sustainable services. Advanced Professionals and Emerging Practitioners will contribute to the project by developing and executing trainings, as well as producing and publishing research for a report tentatively entitled “Providing Culturally and Ethnically Appropriate Services.”  The project will be implemented by Center “ANNA”, Nizhny Novgorod Women’s Crisis Center, the Rostov-on-Don Center for the Prevention of Violence, and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in Russia, as well as the Vital Voices Global Partnership, the Texas Council on Family Violence, and the Sanctuary for Families in the US.
